Cornwall Campervan Route Ideas with Pip

Starting at Wadebridge, head to the coast and stop at a beach on the way, for example Constantine, Mawgan Porth, or Crantock. End the day in wonderful St Ives.

Explore St Ives. With at least three great beaches, plus art, culture, and brilliant food, there’s plenty to do on land or on the water.

Make your way back up the coast and stop off at Padstow, Port Isaac, or Tintagel. Seafood, folk songs, and Arthurian legends.

Drive from Wadebridge to Boscastle, then walk some of the historic smuggling coastline. Explore Tintagel and its castle ruins, then perhaps end at Trebarwith Strand to watch the sunset.

On to Port Isaac for seaside charm, quaint shops, and the singing fishermen. Then onwards to Polzeath for surf and sundowners.

From here, you could head to Newquay, famous for its beaches and buzzing town, or stop off to enjoy the coastline around Bedruthan Steps. Find a spot to set up camp, then enjoy a swim and a BBQ, or catch some live music in a pub.

Drive to St Ives for a full day of boat trips, beaches, and art and culture. Neighbouring Hayle is ideal for sand dune walks.

Time to head back to Wadebridge, stopping off in Truro on the way. The cobbled streets are lined with a mix of high street shops and independents.

With a little more time to play with, let’s really get a feel for England’s most southerly point. Pick up Pip from us in Wadebridge and enjoy a jaunt round town, full of independent shops and scrummy food. Next, head to the coast using Padstow as your base. Catch a boat trip and watch the wildlife, or take the ferry over to Rock and get active with the ski school. We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to food, and Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant is one of the treats on offer.

A day of surf culture. Use Newquay as your base, grab a surf lesson on Fistral Beach or Watergate Bay, then walk some coastline around Perranporth or enjoy a favourite beach and the little village at St Agnes. Watch the sunset over the tin mines: you’re in Poldark country.

Sand dunes at Hayle, then art and culture in St Ives, including Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum, plus fresh fish cooked to perfection.

Reach Land’s End via Sennen Cove, and perhaps explore Porthcurno too, one of Cornwall’s most photographed beaches. Or spend time pottering around Penzance.

Visit St Michael’s Mount. You’ll need to book if you want to visit the island. If you fancy something different, you can also kayak around it in Mount’s Bay. From there, carry on towards the Lizard, with options like Kynance Cove if you want a proper ‘wow’ beach.

Try Falmouth, a buzzing coastal town with family-friendly beaches, a castle, great food, and plenty to do. You can take a boat ride to St Mawes and explore the Roseland, or wind your way up the creeks and explore Daphne du Maurier country with quieter river views and great pubs in picturesque locations.

For your last day, you could visit Truro to see the cathedral and enjoy the shops, or head to Charlestown, one of Cornwall’s most popular film locations. There’s also the Eden Project near St Austell, ideal on a rainy day. From there, it’s about an hour back to us to say your goodbyes and give Pip a well-earned rest.
